Registration Copies:

We are required by the Division of Motor Vehicle to have a photocopy of the valid registration card of the license plate number that is ordered. YOU must supply this to us!

The easiest way for you to supply us with this is by emailing us a .JPG or .PDF image to reg@dhptags.com You can also fax it to us at 302-737-6499 or mail it to us at: The Delaware Historic Plate Company, P.O. Box 9261, Newark, DE 19714. You DO NOT need to send us a copy of your order, as we already have it. All we need is the front copy of your registration card, and we will match it up with your order. We CANNOT accept a temporary registration.

Shipping schedule:

  • Porcelain and Stainless Steel Registration License Plates - approximately 3 weeks.
  • Oval Style Beach/City License Plates: approximately 2 weeks.
  • License Plate Frames & Grommets: approximately 1 week.
Please note, our shipping schedule is approximate because we offer a custom process, and our shipping schedule can and does vary based upon a number of factors. We strive to get every customer their order in a timely fashion, and appreciate their patience. Customers who place their order online will receive an automated email when their order has been shipped.

Shipping Method:
We ship all registration plate orders via United States Postal Service Priority Mail. Aluminum oval tags and grommets are shipped via United States Postal Service First Class Mail. License Plates are shipped in an envelope measuring 9 1/2” x 12 1/2”. Frames are shipped in a box measuring 11 1/2” x 13 1/2” x 2 1/2” deep. If the above dimensioned packaging will not fit within the mailbox of the shipping address provided to us, your postal carrier will likely leave you a notice for you to claim you shipment. Priority Mail is an expedited service, offering delivery on average in 2-3 days.

Payment Processing:
Credit card payments will be processed immediately upon order placement. Checks and Money Orders will be deposited immediately upon their arrival. The processing of your payment DOES NOT mean that we have shipped your order. As our License Plates are custom made for each order, full payment is required for us to begin processing your order.

Returns:
For orders placed directly with us or placed with DMV, we will accept returns on our Oval Style Beach/City Plates and License Plate Frames under the following conditions:

  • The Product must be in as-received, resellable condition.
  • Beach/City License Plate returns will incur a $3.00 re-stocking fee. Thus you will be refunded your original purchase price, minus $3.00 .
  • License Plate Frame returns will incur a $7.00 re-stocking fee. Thus you will be refunded your original purchase price, minus $7.00 .
  • You are also responsible for any costs involved in shipping the product back to us.
Black and White Porcelain or Stainless Steel Registration License Plates are not returnable, as each plate is custom made.

Returned Checks:
A $20.00 returned check service charge will be assessed for each dishonored check that is returned to us by the bank.

Quality:
We use only the finest materials, processes, and services available. We make every effort to insure that our License Plates are aesthetically pleasing when viewed from a distance of five feet.
As the process of producing our plates is very difficult, minor cosmetic flaws will certainly be expected.
Should you have a concern regarding the quality of your license plate upon arrival, please contact us immediately so that we may attempt to resolve the issue.
